I have had these marked to blog about for a little while, they are some excellent rants on various things…
Shane talks about passing on the next latte to donate money to hurricane victims… well said Shane. Last week I was even wondering if the rest of the world had even noticed the catastrophe that had happened to my Gulf Coast neighbor. Shortly after, the foreign aid news started to roll in and it has been wonderful to see the world offer to help.
Daniel McPherson blogs about portal-creationitis and that you really only need one portal. Cheers to that. Corporate politics are insane and often overrule sensible implementation.
Shane points out the impending monopoly that the Adobe and Macromedia merger will create. I have also read that Adobe’s CEO has a background in marketing and not design or graphics and has made several key company decisions based off marketing tactics and not what would be best for the product suites or the graphic design industry. I fear the future of some of my favorites and try to have faith that the products will stay intact. To me, it is an odd pairing of companies.
And this one is a bit old, but I really like Shane’s rant on browsers. I won’t comment, he pretty much says it all.
